FAQ

“DO I NEED ANY PRIOR SKILLS OR KNOW HOW TO DRAW?”

You do not need to know how to do anything to learn how to make custom LED neon signs. I teach you the entire process from beginning to end. No prior knowledge is needed. Only thing I recommend you having prior to purchasing is access to a computer with Adobe Illustrator or an iPad compatible with Illustrator,

“DO I NEED A LASER CUTTER?”

I do not teach you how to laser cut in this virtual class. Laser-cutting is not an essential part of the process to making LED signs, It’s an added touch but not necessary. I recommend all my students practice on rectangular to square pieces of acrylic while they learn the process and when they feel confident in the sign-making process to add a laser cut base into the equation down the line.

Laser cutters are not machines that you can buy and put in your house. These machines are industrial and require ventilation. I recommend finding a company local to you and reaching out to them for pricing. Every laser cutter is different so I can't give you step-by-step directions on how to laser cut.

“HOW MUCH ARE MATERIALS TO GET STARTED?”

To get started, you will have to invest around $200-300 to get everything to complete a sign. Some of the materials on the list you may already have because they are common. The two biggest purchases on the material list are one time purchases and will last you forever if you use them properly. A lot of the other purchases are multiples or enough to last you through multiple practice signs.

“IS THIS HARD TO LEARN?”

I do not think the process is difficult and after teaching the class for two years now, I have plenty of students who have followed my process and have executed signs on their first try!

“I’M NOT GOOD AT LEARNING BY MYSELF. I DON’T FEEL LIKE I COULD LEARN AT HOME.”

Please do not doubt yourself! Believe I made all the mistakes for you and any problems you may experience while learning, I already solved them. If something about my class confuses you, do not hesitate to write in my Facebook group or send me an email so I can further explain.

“WHAT KIND OF COMPUTER DO I NEED?”

You need to make sure that your device can run Adobe Illustrator. My process even works on an iPad compatible with the Adobe Illustrator app.
